PC Related Stuff/Questions / My new build. Video Card ideas ?
« on: August 19, 2011, 03:13:18 pm »
So, it's been about 2 1/2 years, which means it was time for an upgrade.

In a nutshell, without posting links, here is what I have.

Corsair 750W PSU
8GB G. Skill Ripjaws Series X Ram
Rosewill Challenger Gaming Case
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban Processor
Asus AM3 Evo Motherboard
500GB 7200 RPM Seagate HDD
And or course a ridiculous $50 Zalman CPU Fan.

As far as the video card goes, I am still holding onto my Radeon HD 4850 Sapphire 512MB card.

I am waiting for the right time to buy a new one, I preferably want to get one around the time when Battlefield 3 comes out (October 25th).

My range is around $200, I just need it to play games on HIGH settings for at least 1 to 1/2 years. It's been so long since I've gotten a card that I am out of the game (no pun intended) when shopping for a new one.

Any Ideas ?

Who's going to buy the new Medal of Honor on Tuesday ? I'm not sure. It is $60 which sucks but it looks to take the best parts of BFBC2 and MW2.

I just want to see who else has played it or enjoyed it.

here

Some of these are sweet. I don't understand why they made them look this way or the point of it but who cares, everyone has their own taste.

My favorite is the Elbe Philharmonic in Hamburg, Germany.

I've had a great time here at BC. I've made a lot of friends and have even met a few of you that I didn't know before. It was really great getting to be in a real gaming clan and doing something important in the gaming community. I might see some of you in game and I'll chat with you guys on Steam and xfire too. I hereby resign from the clan.

I bid all of you farewell. I'll stop by from time to time when I have a chance. Take care BC.

PC Related Stuff/Questions / New Computer
« on: January 31, 2009, 10:53:03 pm »
Hey guys. My brother is building a computer. Just wanted someone to find him some nice stuff for around $400 or so.

He already has a motherboard, a cpu, a power supply and a disk drive.

He NEEDS Ram, an HDD (not to big on space, 500-750gb is fine), keyboard, mouse, and a decent video card. He also stated that if I could figure out a way to upgrade his CPU to fit in the price range.

So...here's what he has so far.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131142

And a Pentium 4 3.4ghz processor. (Prolly why he wanted the upgrade.)

I know he has a 430 Watt Rosewill Power supply too, it's never been used so it should hold up fine.

Any and all help appreciated. Thankyou !!

TV Shows & Movies / Greatest War Movie Ever
« on: January 06, 2009, 11:18:53 am »
I know this sounds like cheating a little bit but,

Band of Brothers.

Not really a movie but the best made war scenes ever put on screen. Such epicness, but If I had to actually choose a real movie....its between

Black Hawk Down and Platoon

What do you guys think? Maybe there are a few I don't know of.

TV Shows & Movies / Slumdog Millionaire
« on: December 08, 2008, 11:42:55 pm »
If you want to see a real movie, and I mean a really well done movie, see this movie.

I went in to this movie with such high expectations that I thought I was glamorizing it to be the greatest movie ever made. I knew this wasn't possible but yet thats the expectations I was giving it.

The movie is about a young man named Jamal. He gets to be a contestant on the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." He is at the final question which would win him 20 million Rupees. Time runs out and he has to wait till the next day to continue. But, how could a young man from the slum know so many questions. Doctors and lawyers never make it past 60,000 rupees how could a slum make it to 20 million? It is his destiny.

The police interrogate Jamal because they think he is cheating. They then decide to ask him how he knows all of the questions. Throughout the movie, Jamal goes on to explain how he knew the answer to each question. Every question that he answered was a part of his life, something that he learned along the way on his search for his love, Latika. They were separated at an adoption community and hadn't seen each other since. Jamal travels with his older brother Salim. Each time they come back to the slums or the city, Jamal is always asking for her, trying to find out where she went.

The story goes along very smoothly showing how Jamal and Salim both grew up. Salim being the older brother trying to act like such a hard ass and trying to prove that he is tougher than he looks. (Trust me, he proves this.) Jamal then finds Latika a few times, but always ends up loosing track of her again. He then finds her, and knows that she is an advent fan of the show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."

Jamal gets on the show because he says "I got on the show, because I thought she would be watching." This movie has one of the greatest endings to its genre. You couldn't ask for anything more, Jamal is such a loveable character, you're going to be rooting for him the entire film. The young actress who plays Latika has to be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life and it shows her beauty in so many ways.

I highly recommend this film to everyone. Take your girlfriend to see it, go with your friends, go with your parents, go by yourself, it's that good! It really shows the true India and the film almost makes you think and wonder how good you have it in the U.S.

The film is only playing in select cities, I drove 30 min to find it. If you have the chance, go see it.

As said from a critic of the Boston Globe. "I'll keep this simple: Cancel whatever you're doing tonight and go see Slumdog Millionaire instead. "

Grade: A+

Left 4 Dead / Who's your favorite infected character?
« on: November 25, 2008, 11:46:21 am »
I'm just curious. I know certain people are better with other ones. And NO, the Tank does not count. Just these basic ones.

My personal fav is the Smoker, because if you get someone alone with that tongue, they are done for.

I also like the Boomer, mainly for the puke. But I'm curious to see who's best with what.

General Chat / What's your Favorite City to Visit?
« on: November 20, 2008, 02:32:52 pm »
I was just chilin at work when one of my buddies and I just started talking about Chicago. And I realized that it's such an amazing city and my personal favorite. You never run out of fun things to do there. Name some other places that are incredible to visit.

I mean, the view there is amazing. Driving around town, you have Navy Pier, go sight seeing in the Sears Tower, the John Hancock building, stores galore. It's just a real trip to walk around town on a bright and beautiful day. My favorite place to eat is a small restaurant called "Portillos" It's almost like a small grill place, but the food is just outstanding!

So favorite city. Doesn't matter where in the world.

Mine is once again. Chicago
