I'd love to get some people together and play minecraft. I had a server going to for a while, but I moved recently and haven't had time to set up the ports.

General Chat / So I took a little trip
« on: June 28, 2012, 03:29:52 am »
1:30 am on a Wednesday morning is nothing special in Rapid City. A  little break from the heat of the day, and a little wind to break the  silence on a summer's night. So what is there to do besides drive the  night away? That is what we decided would be perfect. At an average  speed of 85, South Dakota left in the rear view mirror in less than two  hours as we made our way into Wyoming just outside of Edgemont. Our next  stop would be a long ways away.

Wyoming doesn't have much to look at in the way of lights at 4 in the  morning. Miles and miles pass as the United State's least populated  state takes its toll on our sleep deprived bodies. With nothing else is  store we pressed on into the inky blackness of a star filled night most  people have never seen. Turn after turn, the GPS takes us to a place we  rarely see; a city of life that is hardly expected so far from water.

As daylight breaks the horizon, we are seeing the distant mountains,  sparkling in the new day. They tell a story of the many years past, and  stand strong for the many years to come. Still mile after mile passes  without a sign of civilization. Cars drive in both directions with their  destinations far away.

Finally, a city appears, but is not what we were looking for. Cars enter  the interstate and exit only a little ways from where they started. A  little rush hour for the city of Cheyenne, where traffic starts to pick  up for the last section of our trip that day. Before the day can fully  come into life, Colorado is in our grasp. Car after car find their way  into our rear view mirror as the traffic in the fast lane quickens to  90, to 95. Even at this pace it will be a while before we reach our  destination.

The pace is set as the traffic heavies and the lanes are clogged. Miles  away we see smoke raising from the distant mountains; man has lit the  calm view alight with fire tens of thousands of acres large. The air  from here smells of sadness as the green earth turns black with heat and  smoke. As we press on, even with our destination so close, the air  doesn't let us see the buildings touching the sky. The view we seek has  been taken from us as punishment. Finally we have to stop as the car  can't run on the fuel it had before.

 Story part over.

My friends and I were sick of sitting in the town that we grew up in.  Nothing really changes and we needed a little excitement before the 100  degree days in the Black Hills drove us mad. So we decided to take a  drive to Denver for a different view. Little did we know how bad the  fires were at that point in the Rockies. I can't give a better description of what it looked like from that distance. When we drove back we could see the smoke all the way from were we turned off of I-25 onto the back roads and then some. It was sad to say the least.

Anyways it was turning out to be a great day otherwise. We didn't find much to do by ourselves in Denver, so we drove to Colorado Springs to find a few friends that we know from college. We saw places like the Garden of the Gods and the Denver zoo. If you have never been, I would go the first chance you get. We only spent a day and a half in Colorado but we had a hell of a time. We even found a huge hookah lounge in Fort Collins that is way better than the ones up here in Rapid. Maybe next time we will be able to go into the Mountains when they aren't so damaged.

Sadly though, the trip did take its toll on my car. I have a large chunk of my front bumper missing from getting cut off as we headed for home. The money they gave me paid for the trip and to get the car fixed, though.

I wouldn't expect much out of it. Besides the processor, they are lesser quality parts.

That Q6600 I got from snow is still going though it doesn't want to stay overclocked anymore. I think that is the motherboard it is on. I'll have to check at a later date

I think that the community idea would be a little more inviting to new and old members. It is very relaxed which is like what the clan was before activity went down so low.

Didn't you hear about the new Apple Wifi sync? It finds your computer through Wifi even if you iPod can't do wifi, that way iTunes can pop open and annoy you, without you being any wiser as to why.

PC Related Stuff/Questions / Last set of updates for 7
« on: September 16, 2011, 02:41:30 am »
During the last set of updates that came out for 7, a lot of people were complaining that their computers no longer displayed anything in English. After looking into it, I noticed that the font folder was stripped down to just about nothing, 2 or 3 shitty symbol type fonts at best. I still don't know why some computers are doing it, while others aren't. What I saw from working on school computers:

Our school uses 4 different tablets that get rented, one being old gateway M280E's. Most of the messed up ones were these running windows 7.
Our schools newest computers (Fujitsu T901) also got messed up, but 15 at most out of 800 rented out.
Our schools other two Fujitsu's (T5010 and T730), have not been messed up at all.

Have any of you had this type of issue? We found a way to temporarily fix it, but some idiots keep reinstalling the update no matter how many times we tell them to just ignore it. I want to find a more permanent solution.
