You know what my biggest issue with the whole non iproduct lineup? They make so many of them, I don't know which one is which... Every week someone makes a new iPhone or iPad killer, only to have another one follow it. How's support on these products a year or 2 down the road? I just can't imagine people using their Evo4G or Droid2 2 years from now.... I still have a 1st gen iPhone that runs great and meets all my needs as a "world phone" that i can pop a prepaid sim chip in whenever i travel. Until recently, Apple was still releasing updates for the gen 1. They only stopped because the more recent updates are too power hungry.

Yes, having choice is nice for some. For me, Its a damn phone (or tablet in the case of this thread)... Just like a netbook, you don't need a whole hell of a lot of power to surf the web, watch a movie, or read books, etc... iPad looks amazing, and does what tablets are designed for well..... That's why it's a success.  Someday, I would love to own a tablet that can play modern games, but were still years off from that. In the mean time, I have a MacBook Pro for work when I'm away form home, along with an iPhone for calls, and a Windows rig for work when I'm home. That's all I need. Why would I gat an ugly clunky droid when the iPhone meets my needs, looks better and has a more intuitive (to me) interface?

Sorry for rambling, I'm tired....

Don't judge them by BC2. It took the vehicle mechanic which makes BF games great and put it second seat to infantry combat. Bad move.

BF2 was one of the best games of all time. If they keep any of that BF3 will be incredible.
Battlefield BC2 was my first, and last waste of $50 bucks on a BF game...

I think it can greatly help hand eye coordination. By and large, I see students who play video games pick flying up much quicker. The ones in their late 30s and 40s who should still have fine motor control, but never played video games seem to take much longer to pick up the muscle memory for hovering.

Sounds like a panic attack. I had one once when I was in college. I got really light headed, my vision closed in and went black/white. I was standing on the bus, and I damn near went down. Scared the crap outa me.

Other way around.
Lol, as I said, any time. Just remember, 5 am is 8 my time. So it isn't so bad. :P   And don't think you'll get out of it without a killer death bear fuzzy cute bunny hug.

Adi, wow. I'm so sorry to hear that. At least Random is there to help. I wish I could do something, anything, to help or be supportive.  If you ever need anything, call.

I was giving that student a mountain intro. We call it training, but in reality, we just blast down canyons and land at some nice beaches on rivers.

I'd say its half the vibrations and half the camera..... Helicopters are very shaky, but its such a rapid vibration that we don't feel most of it. We feel the lower frequency ones, which are much more subtle on a properly balanced rotor system. The iphone camera just can't seem to keep up with that particular resonance, and it probably wasn't helped by me balancing the camera on my leg.
beautiful terrain, why were you flying there? for fun?

I gotta ask, the camera seems to shake like crazy... is that heli actually shake like that or is it just exacerbated by the camera?

Just take the time difference between ipad and galaxy tab or whoever first comes up with an andriod tablet in the US release date, is how long they should get to catch up to the ipad in monthly sales. If galaxy tab comes out 8 months after the ipad, that's how long you need to wait after it's release.

I wonder why infantry thinks you're talking about Galaxy sales.... lol....

I'll try and dig it up. It was on Macrumors a month or 2 ago...
One hole in your app argument Drizz.... Studies have shown Droid users are less likely to buy apps. They get the free ones, but stay away from ones that cost you. If you're writing an app, which market are you more likely to go to?

That's a good point.  I hadn't heard that figure before.

Like it or not, Apple will be Apple. That means closed systems, great looks, and (IMHO) great functionality.

Can you get Snow Leopard on anything besides a mac (without hacking it)? No. What makes you think apple would change all that with iOS? Even is they're behind Droid, and I don't see why they wouldn't be, they still will be doing well. RIM is on the way out. That leaves a lot of market share for iPhone and Droid to pick up.

Oh, and from what I heard, the Droid tablet was a bit of a bust compared to iPad.....

And ya, aviation loves iPhone. Probably 70% of the pilots I know use em.

I ended up getting an MSI 8400GS.... I wanted to get the 8800 to run 2 of the monitors. My 260 would then be reserved for only pumping out max on one monitor.

Size wise is it too big for a mid tower? With my GTX260, I had to cut slots out of my hd bays....
