Well Russia got scrapped the other day by a meteor and we missed the asteroid altogether. But, what if? Here's a handy dandy impact calculator from the scientists of Purdue University London.

Quite fun to play with scenarios yet educational.  ;)

General Chat / To kill a mouse...
« on: December 14, 2009, 02:15:11 pm » need a lot of shit. For a smart mouse, costly gear. So I got me some high tech mouse contraptions to kill the lil' bastard.

Wednesday last week I has left a large apple on my desk. The next morning it had been chomped on by some unseen rodent. So I set a trap by his possible path and baited it with some apple he liked so well. Thursday morning, no mouse, no bait, trap not sprung. Some beach. So Thursday I set not one but 3 traps, two baited with peanut butter and bread and one with apple. Friday morning I check the 3 traps. No apple and trap not sprung, both peanut butter traps sprung, bait gone, no mouse. WTF?!?!

Friday I set them all again, add in some GLUE paper, and 2 STEEL traps, bait all.....

Monday morning.... All I got was some... FUR!   No mouse but bait still there. So off to Lowe's I go. Uri is going 4G in mouse killing technologies. This some beach is gonna die, slowly if possible.

The Press N' Set is like the jaws of death, there is no escape! That sucker has teeth on it and I'd hate to be that lil' SOB mouse when he meets Mr. Jaws of Death!

If'n that don't work I got the "Mouse Launcher" Well that's what I call it cause it looks kinda like it could launch a mouse into the next county.

Tuesday morning Right after I clean up the dead mice from my office I'll sit down and enjoy a nice cup of java.  aaaah.

General Chat / Intense Geminid Meteor Shower Peaks Tonight
« on: December 13, 2009, 09:52:05 am »

The Geminids are slow meteors that create beautiful long arcs across the sky—many lasting a second or two.

Favoring observers in the Northern Hemisphere, the Geminids are expected to be most frequent within two hours of 1:10 a.m. ET in the wee hours of Monday.

The shower's radiant—the point in the sky from which the meteors appear to originate—is the constellation Gemini, which rises above the eastern horizon after 9 p.m. local time.

Astronomers recommend observers head outside between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. local time.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'

The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and went fishing and hunting and camping and hung out with his buddies and played on the Internet all he wanted and played golf a lot and drank beer and scotch and had money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The End

I was in the pub yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart.
The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat.

After a couple of songs, I started to feel better.

I finished my pint and noticed that everybody was staring at me.

Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.

Never knew there was actually a guy named Oscar Mayer

Meat-processing exec Oscar Mayer dead at 95  and was third with name to run company before selling it to General Foods

MADISON, Wisconsin - Oscar G. Mayer, retired chairman of the Wisconsin-based meat processing company that bears his name, has died at the age of 95.

Mayer’s wife, Geraldine, said he died of old age Monday at Hospice Care in Fitchburg.

He was the third Oscar Mayer in the family that founded Oscar Mayer Foods, which was once the largest private employer in Madison. His grandfather, Oscar F. Mayer, died in 1955 and his father, Oscar G. Mayer Sr., died in 1965.
Mayer retired as chairman of the board in 1977 at age 62 soon after the company recorded its first $1 billion year. The company was later sold to General Foods and is now a business unit of Kraft.

Mayer’s first wife, Rosalie, died in 1998. He married Geraldine Fitzpatrick in 1999.

« on: July 08, 2009, 11:50:13 am »
Ok No cheating.

If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose (sorry, you can only pick one). Trust me...this is very accurate. Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists shrinks think about you.

REMEMBER - No Cheating. Make your choice before you check the meaning.

Here are your choices:

1. Angel Food Cake

2. Brownies

3. Lemon Meringue Pie

4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing

5.. Strawberry Short Cake

6. Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing

7. Ice Cream

8. Carrot Cake

No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully about what your choice will be.

OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what the researchers say about you...

SCROLL DOWN---No Cheating

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all
warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you
need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others
perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are
a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When
tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the
oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction.. You tend
to be very loyal.

3. LEMON MERINGUE -- Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your
hands, you are an excellent caregiver and a good teacher.

a diva at times, you set your own style because you do your
own thing. You shine when it comes to helping others and
have many friends.

humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and
lacking motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but
you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in
making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving. You care
about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect
the same in return. Intuitively keen. You can be very
emotional at times but a true person in every way. You like
to do things for yourself and help others learn about

to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious,
and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but
are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not
settle for anything average in life.. Love to laugh.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball,
football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like
to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't
like to give up the remote control. You tend to be
self-centered and high maintenance.

8. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who
likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang
out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a
little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. You
were meant to lead and teach others. A wonderful role model
