Is this anything like cwe experienced?

Those wankers are still at it. Here's the standard email message I send out when this is reported. Basically clear cache and cookies for all periods to fix it.

Hi, Greg,

Formeost, please accept our sincere apologies. I can both answer your question and provide a remedy that has worked for other users this has happened to. It is not your fault, or ours. Unfortunately I cannot unblock you here, it has to be done on your computer.

First the 'why:'

Ongoing, daily cyber attacks against the Lake County News web site may have resulted in your username being reported as blocked by the site. In every reported case, including yours, the username has not been blocked by us or the site.

Please accept our apologies for this nuisance.

This is a side effect of the actions of a certain small politically motivated group in the county who appreciate neither your right to access information at your discretion nor our First Amendment rights as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

This is a concerted, ongoing attack on the Free Press in Lake County by criminals who do not embrace the concept of freedom of speech in the pursuit of their political goals.

While these attacks fail to derail the site, certain anomalies such as the one you have experienced have occurred.

How to fix it quickly:

To resolve the issue, please clear your cache and cookies. If you are unfamiliar with clearing cache and cookies please review instructions.

To clear the cache please visit this University of Indiana page that addresses a variety of browsers, with screenshots: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache

You may also make sure your java version is current to enhance the security of your computer.

To see what version of  Java you have and some details about it, visit this link: http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp and click on the 'Verify Java Version' button.

If Java is out of date that page is the right place to be and it can help you to update Java on your computer.

This information can also be found in the FAQ section. http://www.lakeconews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=3&Itemid=206

LCN apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your readership.
