No swearing in Team Speak?
« on: March 25, 2007, 09:11:21 pm »
I think that their should be a TS no swearing rule. If we cant swear in text then it doesn't really make any sense to be able to swear in TS :|

I think everyone should use sound judgement in whether to "swear" or not. If any clanmember catches me swearing and it bothers them, then just kindly mention that it bothers you and I would stop out of respect.
As a general rule I don't think anyone swears excessively, just the occasional "ass" , "*uc*, or other similar. I've never heard any member use "vulgar" language or racist .

There are times when some of us, especially older players like Ruga, Uri, and me will use a few choice words but I seem to remember that we all apologize for the swearing as soon as we realize it.  Late at night it seems to happen more often between alot more members, but we know it's not excessive.  Keep it to a minimum and we should be fine.

I think you need to look at the by laws: 1.  All mainstream vulgar swear words in any languages are NOT allowed.

there currently is a no swearing rule but it depends on which channel you are in.... BCa and the CSS channels currently do not have language rules.  People do slip up from time to time, over TS is alot easier to slip then by having to stop and type.

Also, damn is an acceptable word by our language rules, god damn is a religious thing, if it offends someone, then say something and that person, I'm sure, will do there best to not do it for ya... but it is not technically against our rules.

yes, its all up to interpretation, when we wrote that we meant ones considered vulgar by most people, damn isn't one of those words.  Since there is not a hard set rule here with a strict definition, we came up with the language rules to use as a guide.

By that they mean words that everyone considers bad language, not just a few select people.

Personally when I say dam on t/s I am referring to; a barrier constructed to contain the flow of water or to keep out the sea.  I don't know why I say that as a term of frustration, maybe it has to do with living in the desert and thus the futility of attempting to contain something we don't have to start. I just wanted to clarify that to avoid any misunderstandings.......

I think their should be a rule on no swearing on TS
because it could scar new people away because they could think that if you swear you could be a bad person :smt018
or they might think you have problems or something what ever they may think of people swearing :smt009

not really unless you are using racists words, or a lot of cussing
usually if anycussing is done its referring to a mistake, lag, or hacking
does anyone here press push to talk when they about to say anything even when talking to someone else on comp?

Oh bummer, your Mom walked by!? Sorry about that dude.

Man, we just got Corn in trouble you guys!  :smt012

Well, we do all need to be reminded of this once and a while, to not cuss, so thanks for the reminder and I apologizes for any future slip ups.
But during grueling practices, with "Everyone" on TS, mabe you should put some head phones on, so we don't get you in trouble. Also if there is a word you personally find offensive and it's OK word by others, let us know and we will make sure to not use that word when you are around. ;)
(well I will anyways)

I seriously hope you are joking. (meaning I hope that your thread hasn't been tampered with...  :evil5: )
