Mouse not responding?
« on: November 12, 2008, 12:30:20 pm »
I dunno if anyone can help, but its kinda weird... Padman has decided to no longer allow me to use my mouse :)

I'm running xorg 7.4, which may be part of the issue, its on ubuntu 8.10.  There was not a problem before the upgrade to xorg 7.4 that I recall.  The mouse is stuck in the top left side of the screen as soon as I enter into the game.  Disabling Compiz and such does nothing for me, so I don't think thats related.  I'm running the apt tree's 177 drivers for Nvidia.

any ideas?

Get a cat, that'll make that mouse move. Hey like any of us can solve problems the biggest gearhead in the clan can't solve?

Does'nt sound like a video issue. Try a different USB port if the mouse is USB. If that is a no go and u have a USB to ps2 Adapter, use that.

try deleting or uninstalling all of your mouse drivers...then rebooting..they should automatically reinstall. unless it only happens on padman? then try reinstalling padman. the only sure cure is to NOT play padman. lolz

Hm. Not sure. I haven't had it happen in the Mac version. I just did a quick look at the WoP forums but didn't see anything. Are you running windowed mode or full screen? When the game launches, hit the ` console key and see if there are any mouse-related messages.
Thanks, Drizz!

thats worth a shot, I was running it fullscreen only at native resolution, I'll trying running in a window, that would be fine if it would work that way.

When you say it gets stuck, do you mean like in one place or just a little box in the top left corner?

I have it stay within about a 10 by 20 box of pixels when a open CS:S, so I was wondering if it was like that.

well, that sorta worked, gave me a mouse for the menu system, still went away in the game....  Both onboard mice did the same thing so I attached my bluetooth mouse, same thing.

xorg 7.4 handles pointing devices and keyboards differently apparently, I'm thinking that is the issue... I'm looking into it more.
