Remember 9/11
« on: September 11, 2008, 12:30:13 pm »
Today, the anniversary of 9/11 I'd like everyone to watch this and remember.

I know we normally live in a state of peace, but that can change at any time.  Many of us have been sheltered from things like this most of our lives, others of us have been to war...  Not everyone gets to live in a state of peace, it comes at a price always.

i remember like it was yesterday, i was thirteen and the only thing going through my mind was uncertainty.
9/11 caught not just the united states but the whole world off guard.
4 planes crashed in matter of hours, I had no clue what was going on and what was going to happen.
i would like to thank those who watch for our safety everyday, give my thoughts and prayers to friends and families of the ones we've lost
state of peace does indeed come at a price, hope we can learn from and admire the life we have from sacrifices of others.

Geeze, i member this when i was in friggin elementry... they came over intercom.. i knew exactly what they said

"Dear students and staff... A tragedy has just happened. We've been attacked by Terrorists. The twin towers, have been hit by a plane. Do not panic, we will not release school. But lets take a moment of silence for those who has lost there lives."

And it was a good 5 minutes of silence..

Another one that has been up for years. A little different presentation and worth watching. I remember it like yesterday. Was working in a IT department in a large manufacturing plant with 1,200 employees at the time and actually had to set up AV equipment in different areas of the site in a hurry so others could watch the news unfold. This company was owned by Europeans and a handful of the engineers were foreigners on sponsored work visas. One man, while watching the second plane hit jumped for joy and exclaimed "Praise Allah" at the moment of impact. You would have thought he was watching a soccer match. This in a room of about 30, down home, hard ass working good old boys. He was quickly escorted out of the room by a lead engineer that he worked with as he yelled at him "Do you realize where you are?!". His name was Rizwan Aziz, from Pakistan, I'll never forget it.

My heart grieves for the folks who perished that day. The selfish act of some whacko zealots has completely turned daily life upside down for so many of us. And for god's sake, there were young kids on their first flight on some of these planes.
And I miss those buildings tremendously. Fortunatley both me and my daughter had a chance to go to the top years ago.

It would be crazy for a robot to wanna be a folk singer...

Uhm, ok? lol

I don't remember much about the actual day, as I was like 6 or 7 years old, but I do remember seeing it on the TV before I left for school.
